Product Training

The modern HGV is expensive, complex and full of technology that has to be managed correctly. Ensuring the driver gets the best from the vehicle will ensure maximum profit from your investment.

After a day’s training the drivers will be fully educated in all of the vehicles features and be confident in using them. Best practice, the technology and operating benefits will be fully explained as understanding promotes use.

Driver Coaching

Instructing the best use of vehicle technology and features, whilst teaching the driver to adapt their driving style to maximise all fuel saving opportunities, will result in significant savings every day – a cultural change.

Once the vehicle checks have been completed a brief description of the day will be given.

  • Session 1
Driver conducts his/her duties as normal.
  • Session 2
A few educational slides on the ipad and any observations from Session 1 will be discussed with the driver.
  • Session3
New techniques will be put into action and theory into practice.
  • Conclusion
The driver will be briefed on progress and both sets of figures confirmed.
  • Reporting
You will be presented with data from the day detailing improvements, observations, learnings and projected savings.

Train the Trainer

The in-house driver trainer often understands the concerns and issues of the driving team more than anyone. Close analysis of problems and re-occurring issues promote targeted solutions.

Methods delivered by S Clayton (HGV Driving Specialist) Ltd are tailored to the specific company training requirements. Continued, structured delivery of these methods, via the trainer, will ensure ongoing savings and improved use of the assets.

Analysis & Reporting

Every driver and day is different – there is no ‘one size fits all’ in driver training. Recognition and full understanding of each client and driver is reflected in the consistent impressive fuel saving results.

Every driver will be shown the improvements from their day’s training. The business, in turn, will receive full reports on the driver’s performance, observations made and the projected improvements – financially and environmentally.

Consultation on driver retention, transport departmental performance and fleet options is also available.
